Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from the Little Tennessee Mermaid

Can you feel the mischief in the air?

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween. It poured down rain here, which really put a damper on the trick or treating. I followed Bert© around with an umbrella trying to keep her semi-dry as we participated in a “Trunk or Treat” event at a local church. She collected her candy, thanked everyone, and promptly decided that she was ready to go home. We watched “The Proposal” with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds while Bert© was on candy patrol incase we had any treaters come to our house. She was highly disappointed as we didn’t receive even one knock at the door. However she managed to console herself by snuggling up with her mommy and eating some of her loot. We went to bed when Mr. Nascar returned home from working the Football game on Saturday night, and we all enjoyed a nice sleep in on Sunday morning.

Fall is in the air.

October 21, 2009 · 2 Comments

Can you feel it? Can you smell it?

Here in lovely East Tennessee the fall season has come in like a lion! The weather is gorgeous, just absolutely gorgeous. The over night lows have been in the 30’s and the air is crisp and cool. I feel like I can finally breathe.

We have had so much rain this year. We’re 10+ inches of rain over the normal rainfall totals for this time of year. The rain, combined with the cool temperatures has created a spectacular autumn. The leaves are changing colors, everywhere I look are vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows. It really has made me feel so very glad to be alive.

I do have some news, dear readers. I went last night and formally signed papers to put an offer in on a house. It’s a 31-year-old brick front rancher. 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms. It’s on about a quarter acre of property which is fenced in the back yard. It has an attached 1 car garage.

House

We went and viewed the home on Monday, and while there are a few things that would need to be changed (paint & wallpaper) mainly, both Mr. Nascar and I liked the house. It’s closer to Bert©’s school than we are now. It’s just up the street from where she attends daycare afterschool. The front yard is gorgeous with the miniature roses and the flower beds. We could tell the house has been taken care of. I met last night with the Seller’s real estate agent to put in an offer on the home. We should have a response from her by Thursday at noon. I have already been pre-qualified for a loan by one company, but submitted an application to another mortgage broker yesterday afternoon to see if we could get an even better rate. Hopefully all of this will click into place and we can be closed on the house by Nov. 27th. We would then give our 30 day notice to our landlord and use that time to repaint, and to slowly move items into the new house.

Bert© has been doing wonderfully in school. We should be getting her first formal report card home on Thursday. At my parent teacher conference, the teacher mentioned she would like to start Bert© on an accelerated reading program. She is the top reader in her class. I hardly have to help her figure out a word when she’s reading anymore. I couldn’t be more pleased. I love reading and often can be found with a book somewhere near me. I’m glad to see that my daughter cause also caught my love for words. Her scores in math are not as high as in reading & spelling, however they are excellent scores for a child who just turned 6 years old in August. I am very proud of her.

I am doing well. However, I am exhausted. I feel like there is never enough time to do everything that needs to be done. I have picked up a little extra work on the side, so I have worked every day for the last two weeks. While the paycheck is nice, I still have plenty of household chores that need to be completed. I am quickly running out of clean laundry! Oh the bane of the existence of a working woman. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays I pretty much rush back out of the house as soon as I get home. Bert© has Girl Scouts on Tuesdays (she’s a daisy) and on Wednesday she has catechism classes at church. We’re even thinking about adding in basketball practice for her, two nights a week. Gosh I sure would like just one day to be able to sleep in and relax.

Speaking of sleeping in and relaxing…hopefully if all goes according to plan, Mr. Nascar and I will be escaping this weekend. We are planning on going to Tunica, MS to one of the casinos down there. Mr.Nascar will be turning 43 years old this week! This trip will be one of his presents, as I hate gambling and find it very boring to watch him lose our money. I might just spend the evening in our hotel room, enjoying a nice bubbly jacuzzi bath! Mmm that sounds wonderful.

I need to get back to work now, so I shall bring this to a close. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Veni, Vidi…Vacation!

July 2, 2009 · 3 Comments

Monday morning we left Jacksonville at about 7:30am and ventured down to Orlando.

Florida is so flat, I really wasn’t expecting that. While there isn’t a whole lot to see on the way down, I still thought it was beautiful. Everything is lush and green with the rains they have been having. The palm trees are gorgeous and I didn’t realize there was such a variety among the species. Tall, short, medium; with all kinds of different configuration of palm fronds. The trees are so skinny and tall. I bet I could wrap two hands around the trunk. Mr. Nascar said its probably because they were burned down in a wild fire at one point and they’ve just now had an opportunity to grow again. The brush grows up between the trees and makes it look jungle-esque. The Spanish Moss that grows hangs off of everything and gives it the unique appearance of being bearded. It’s magnificent, I’m going to have a hard time leaving on Saturday morning.

The roads are so straight. I bet we travelled 50+ miles on the interstate and never went around a curve. That is something I’ve never experienced before. Mr. Nascar and I were speculating that by their very nature of being flat and straight the roads are probably pretty dangerous, especially at nighttime. I can see where tired drivers heading home could easily fall asleep behind the wheel because there isn’t a whole lot to force you to focus on. You just hit cruise control and away you go.

Orlando is about 60 miles inland from the coast so it’s significantly warmer. We arrived at our hotel around 9:40am and luckily we were able to check in to an empty room. We dropped off our luggage, and went down to wait for the shuttle to take us to Sea World.

Welcome to Sea WorldI had never been to Sea World before, but Mr. Nascar went about 10 years ago with a previous girlfriend and loved it. He felt that this park would be the one that all three of us would enjoy the most, and boy was he right. We got a park map as soon as we arrived and set out planning our day around the shows that Sea World offers. We saw Shamu-Believe, Clyde & Seymour take Pirate Island, Blue Horizons – Dolphin show, and something with cats, dogs, and even a pig preforming. We rode one ride, and walked all over the blessed place looking at the animals and even sometimes interacting with them. We fed the sting rays, petted the dolphins, and almost got to feed the sea lions and seals as well but we just missed it. I’m going to post a few more pictures and let the pictures tell you all a thousand words. Suffice it to say, as exhausted as we were, we had a terrific time. Mr. Nascar chose well!

Greetings from Florida!

Fun in the SunWebmiss, Bert©, & Mr. Nascar are on VACATION!!

We’re down here in sunny Jacksonville, FL where Mr. Nascar’s brother lives. We left from Tennessee early yesterday morning and arrived down here safe and sound before dark. We stopped by his brother’s apartment to visit for a bit, ran to Wal*Mart for some beach supplies and then headed down to the sand. It was awesome! Everyone kept saying how hot it was, but honestly I didn’t notice. The humidity here is negligible, whereas in Tennessee it’s unbearable. Often it’s 98% humidity before 8am up there. Yesterdays weather was pretty much ideal.

Bert© and Mr. Nascar immediately headed out into the surf for some boogie boarding lessons. The wind was blowing and the sun was setting. It was perfect. The smell of the salt water, the squish of the sand under foot, it was almost heaven. I never realized how much I missed living near the ocean until I moved to Tennessee. Surfs up

We’re having a great time. It’s been very cool to meet Mr. Nascar’s brother and his girlfriend. We’re going to head off to church later this morning in St. Augustine at the Cathedral Basilica. While the original parish was built in 1565, it was burned to the ground at least twice. The Cathedral as it stands today was built in 1797 and over the years has been remodeled and added on to. I am told that it’s a sigh to behold and I honestly cannot wait to go and celebrate mass there. Afterward we will be going to brunch with Mr. Nascar’s brother and his girlfriend. We will bring Mr. Nascar’s brother back to the apartment as he has rehearsal with his band today and then we will be hitting the beach again. I can’t wait to walk down the strip and go into all the different shops. I truly am enjoying myself and can’t wait to explore. More pictures to come, especially of our trip down to Orlando later this week where we will be amusing ourselves at Sea World, Orlando!

It’s a bird, it’s a plane…no, it’s a Whirlpool® Fabric Freshener

June 6, 2009 · 5 Comments

Hello, my name is Webmiss and I work for Whirlpool Corporation. Phew, there I said it. I think I’ve been blogging now for roughly 2 years and I have been so scared to reveal any details about myself on the web but now, now you all know the truth.

Today Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m going to tell you about this awesome appliance Whirlpool® makes called the Fabric Freshener.

The Whirlpool Fabric Freshner

The Whirlpool Fabric Freshener

I don’t own one of these yet, but they have one at work that we’ve all been able to get a hands on feel for and; the verdict is: I.Love.It!

I’m sure there are plenty of people in this world that do laundry just like I do. I wash my clothes, throw them in the dryer and then just forget about them. When Monday rolls around and I’m looking for something to wear to work all my shirts and pants are wrinkled. I groan and roll my eyes because I now have a choice; either I break out the iron and go to town tackling wrinkles or I throw the clothing items back in the dryer for about 10 minutes. Either way this is a now win situation for me. I either spend the rest of the morning ironing and lose valuable time getting ready and potentially arrive late for work, or I throw them in the dryer and then my clothes are so warm when I put them on that I start to sweat and give my Degree antiperspirant a chance to live up to it’s name. TMI, I know, but I’m trying to make a point here people; I’m LAZY. That’s where the wonder that is the Whirlpool® Fabric Freshener comes in. If I had one of these puppies I could put my clothes inside, press a button and voila!

Just imagine, while I have been in the shower, brushing my teeth, and washing my face, my clothes have been having a relaxing and rejuvenating experience inside the Fabric Freshener. When the 30 minutes are up, I just remove them from the appliance and they are looking AND smelling great, just like moi! I’m happy, my clothes are happy and hi ho hi ho it’s off to work I go.

This doesn’t have to be just a dream. Great smelling, wrinkle free clothes could be a reality thanks to Whirlpool®.

I spent a little time on our website www.Whirlpool.comresearching the benefits of a Fabric Freshener so I could make an informed blog post. I didn’t realize that the Fabric Freshener had been selected in 2006 by the Good Housekeeping Institute for a “Good Buy” award

Closed Fabric Freshener

“The Fabric Freshener’s combination of heat and steam helps relax wrinkles from common fabrics like wool, silk, polyester, rayon and cotton, and tackles odors from smoke, food, pets and perfume. Because the Fabric Freshener uses no chemicals or detergents — just water –clothing will look new longer.

The Fabric Freshener delivers convenience even down to its design. Compact and portable, it’s an ideal fit for nearly every living situation. When fully upright, the Fabric Freshener stands approximately 58-in. high, 33-in. wide and 12-in. deep. When not in use, the unit can be collapsed to the size of a small vacuum (approximately 10-in. high, 33-in. wide and 12-in. deep) for easy storage and portability.”

Some interesting facts about the Fabric Freshener:

  • It’s Eco-Friendly: Employing a patented steam technology system using only water* instead of harmful chemicals
  • It’s Cost Effective: The machine uses only a small amount of water*and electricity. Keep your clothes looking newer longer by using the Fabric Freshener instead of washing before wearing.
  • It’s irreplaceable: It removes odors, relaxes wrinkles and will dry your delicate fabrics; no more trips to the dry cleaners.

Hopefully by now you’re all wondering where you can purchase such an amazing appliance. Well, the Whirlpool® Fabric Freshener is not available for purchase in regular retail big-box stores. Right now, if you go to our website http://www.whirlpool.com/home.jspand enter the model # LRF4001RY in the search box you can order directly from Whirlpool®. The MSRP on the Whirlpool® Fabric Freshener is $219 however if you click on the add to cart link you can enter promotional code FF197 for a $30 instant savings. With my discount code the Whirlpool® Fabric Freshener is only $189!!**

I’m excited about this opportunity and I hope you all are as well. I can’t wait to buy my very own Whirlpool® Fabric Freshener, can you?

*Whirlpool® recommends only using distilled water to avoid calcium build up on the motor over time.

**Plus applicable taxes and shipping to be determined at time of check out.

Like a thief in the night…

March 5, 2009 · Leave a Comment

So I was tinkering around on the internet, and I ran across a particular post that my lovely friend Sleepyjane wrote entitled: “Relationships stink sometimes”. I read it and I thought to myself…Oh my gosh, my relationship stinks too! Not so much in the literal sense that SJ was meaning (eww morning breath) but in a sense of some of the “stinky” things that have happened to me & Mr. Nascar lately.

So I bring you Top Ten Thursday…told you I was a thief!

The top 10 reasons my relationship stinks:

1. I am dating a prisoner

2. I have been without sex for 7+ months. That’s a HUGE dry spell!

3. I am dating a convicted felon

4. I am dating someone that is housed 355 miles from me. It’s 12 hours round trip to drive out and see him.

5. Mr. Nascar snores!

6. He is a total bed hog.

7. He adores my child and will promptly commence spoiling her rotten the minute he gets released

8. He loves American Idol, Football, and Nascar. I do not. Need I say more?

9. He’s never been married, and I’m terrified that he’s going to ask me one day.

and the #10 reason that my relationship sucks…is because we are separated, and have been separated for 7 very long months. I miss him, with all my heart, and pray each night that this is all over with and finished soon.

I don’t like…

December 27, 2008 · 1 Comment

The new WordPress dashboard. I’m having the hardest time adjusting.

Can you tell I don’t like change??

We went to Dollywood yesterday to have some after Christmas fun. It was good, but reminded me too much of the time I went there with Mr. Nascar. It was tinged with a bit of sadness for me, because he wasn’t able to be part of the day. Bert© and I have season passes for both parks (Dollywood & SplashCountry) but my mom does not. I managed to win 2 free passes from work, so I invited her to go with us to see Winterfest.

We arrived at the park just after 11, and immediately headed to the Celebrity Theatre to see “Babes in Toyland”. Bert© and I had seen the production last year, but I really enjoyed it. I was surprised to see that it was not an entirely new cast. Some of my favorite cast members from last year made a reappearance this year. The little girl that plays the lead child is fantastic. I enjoyed her performance last year, and enjoyed it even more so this year. The best part was that we happened to sit next to a man who looked exactly like Santa Claus. He let Bert© sit in the seat next to him and ask him all kinds of questions. He said that he was on vacation in Gatlinburg since he was exhausted after Christmas eve. She had such a smile on her face and even gave Santa a hug before we went off to explore other attractions in the park. That man was very sweet and incredibly indulgent and I’m sure he gave my daughter a memory to last a life time.

We stopped for lunch after that, and then wandered off to wait in line for “The Polar Express 4-D experience”.  The line-up was huge. There were signs telling us that our wait time at this point was 75 mins, 60 mins, 45 mins, etc. I think it was worth the wait, but others might not have. You go into this little room and watch the very beginning of the movie, up until the train arrives outside the little boy’s house. Then a red beacon flashes it’s warning lights and another set of doors open. You file into the room and climb into these little “pods”. Each pod has 4 seats and they tell you very specifically to buckle up. You put on your 3-D glasses and the movie comes on again on a huge IMax type screen. The best part is that as you’re riding the train, your seat is attempting to replicate the feel of the train and the movements it makes as it flys uncontrollably over the tracks. Bert© was screaming her head off and mom was cracking up. I was hanging on for dear life and desperately trying not to injure my back on the ride. Unfortunately I managed to jar myself, and ended up in pain for the remainder of the day. I will be very happy to visit with my chiropractor on Monday. After it was over, Bert© was ready and raring to wait in line again to ride a 2nd time. I didn’t think I had the patience for another 90 minute wait for a 20 minute ride, so instead we went outside. At the bottom of the stairs they had a board with pictures on it, the children were encouraged before heading inside to wait for the ride, to have their picture taken with a man who looked exactly like the conductor from the movie. Bert© looked so adorable in her picture that we just couldn’t pass it up.

Next we waited in line to see the inside of Dolly Parton’s Home on Wheels. She had retired that one, and commissioned a new one to be built to the tune of 2.5 million dollars. As we stepped inside the old bus, which was still lovely and very lavish, we had our picture taken as a group (noticing a theme here?) and looked around. Now, my step-father is a retired Tennessee State Patrol Officer and he worked the main stretch of I-40 in Middle TN between Nashville and Jackson mostly. Over the years he has pulled over countless country music legends, including Miss Dolly Parton herself, in the exact bus we were touring. Unfortunately my mom felt compelled to regale that tale to everyone on the bus with us. Normally I wouldn’t have a problem with that, but with so many people willing to lie about stuff like that and name drop, I’m sure everyone on the bus was collectively rolling their eyes and thinking to themselves “Sure, lady”. So I was a little bit embarrassed at that part, but I didn’t say anything as this was mom’s special day. It’s the furthest away from home she’s been in more than a month.

Bert© had been talking all day about going to the Rockin’ Roadway. It’s a 50’s style car ride, where the children are allowed to steer a self-propelled car on a little track. Most children that we saw there were driving erratically, although they cannot get off the track so they can’t hurt themselves, but when the front of the car hits a curve in the track it does give the passengers quite a jolt. I say most children because Bert© was driving very sedately and calmly, almost like I was a doddering old lady and she was carefully taking me out for my Sunday drive. She really loves anything to do with driving, and it was so cute. Plus I was able to honk the horn from my side of the car, and I wore that sucker out!

We talked about seeing another show, but it was going to be at least 30 minutes until something was ready, so we wandered up Craftsmens Valley to have a look-see and do a little window shopping. Dollywood tries to preserve the heritage of hand-made crafts. There are live demonstrations of glass blowing, black smithing, wagon making, wood carving, candle making, and so much more. The artisans create the items not only for demonstration purposes, but also to sell in their respective shops. Some of the stuff that you can find in there is amazing and very creative. I noticed on a lot of the items that were sold at Dollywood that they said “Made in the USA”. I was very pleased to see that, as it’s not a common sight these days.

We walked up to see the Eagle Sanctuary. They are such beautiful and majestic birds. I could have sat there for hours and listened to them call to each other and watched them fly from branch to branch. Bert© though had heard a familiar sound, the steam engine whistle, and wanted to ride the train. We climbed aboard the Dollywood Express as the sun was setting over the Smoky Mountains. Darkness had fallen over Dollywood and the Christmas lights were magnificent. The engineer played Christmas Music for us over the intercom, and the whole train was singing along. There was just enough chill to the air to really make it feel like Christmas. We waved at all the other tourists in the park and wished them “Happy New Year” as we rolled by. We pulled back into the station depot about 25 minutes later with huge smiles on our faces and stopped to get some hot chocolate.

Bert©’s favorite ride is the classic Carousel. We lined up just as the lady said they had closed for the light parade to come by. Mom, Bert©, and I lined up along side the pathway and watched as lighted floats rolled past. Bert© was smiling and waving at everyone, Raggedy Ann even came up and gave her a big hug. The Tin Soldiers marched past on stilts, and there were even some elves dancing along too. Once the parade finished, we convinced mom to hop on the carousel and ride with us. It was nearly 8pm by the time all was said and done so we wandered back toward the front of the park to the exit. We took our time and browsed in all the stores. Mom bought a few things, and Bert© used the last of her spending money to buy some salt water taffy. I left mom at the exit and went to get the van so she didn’t have to walk out to the outer parking lot with us. I don’t think Bert© was in the back of the van more than 30 seconds before she was sound asleep.

We had an excellent day, and it was lovely to do something together as a family. I wish that Mr. Nascar had been able to be there with us, and I know he did too, he told me so when he called. I’ll try and scan the pictures that we had taken there, and up load them so you all can share in our fun too.

I only have to work Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week and then I’m off until January 6th. Hopefully that will give me PLENTY of time to blog and get caught up on everyone elses stuff.

Impressed.

October 16, 2008 · 9 Comments

I had the pleasure of seeing Michael Bublé in concert here in Knoxville on October 3rd. For those of you who are not familiar with him, you are missing out. He is an successful young singer from Canada, so of course that immediately endeared him to me. It doesn’t hurt that he’s wickedly cute either! If you’re interested in checking him out, his official website can be found by clicking here. They have one of his newest singles playing in the background. He covers a lot of old songs, but some of my favorites are ones he has written, or were written specifically for him.

The show was great, I had a decent seat to drool enjoy the show from. What impressed me most was the group that opened his act. The group is called Naturally7. I had never heard of them prior to seeing them open for Michael Bublé, although according to their website they have been around for a few years. They are a contemporary Christian A Capella group.

Their voices are amazing, but what’s even more amazing is that any instrumental sound in the “soundtrack” is created entirely by their own voices.

When they were on stage, they broke it down and demonstrated their “instruments” individually. The crowd went wild. They gave me goose bumps. After the show I purchased their CD Ready II Fly and I was not disappointed. Some of their ballads are incredible songs about the power of love.

Since I have blogged before about the powerful effect that music seems to have on me, I thought that I would share with you, my latest obsession no, wait obsession would be the correct word :)

Enjoy!

I love to laugh…ha ha ha ha

July 10, 2008 · 6 Comments

I love to laugh. Often, movies that are supposed to be “funny” don’t actually make me laugh. Sometimes I’ll chuckle at the appropriate time, especially if it’s a part that involves someone getting hurt (I know, I’m bad), but I never feel satisfied. The best kinds of laughs for me are the ones that I get from the real people I interact with on a daily basis. The moments where you laugh so hard you think you’ll never stop, and then each time you think about the incident you almost can’t help laughing again. Each time this has happened to me, it’s been so unexpected, especially the times it’s Bert© that has cracked me up. My child can really come up with some good ones. I had one such incident with a coworker yesterday, and I have revelled in repeating the conversation. The first two times I repeated it, I could barely get through it without laughing. So without further ado, here are a few conversations recently that I have found very funny.

Me: What do you want to be when you grow up Bert©?
B: A mommy, just like you.
Me: Oh now that’s sweet. How many kids do you want to have?
B: One, a girl.
Me: Well, honey. There’s no guarantee you’ll have a girl. You might have a boy.
B: No, I’m going to have a girl.
Me: Ok. What would you name your daughter?
B: Cheesy Wheezy.

The other day I went over to Mr.Nascar’s house. I knew he wasn’t going to be home, but his roommate Big D was. Mr.Nascar told me just to go ahead and let myself in (as we’ve exchanged keys) but I’m still not comfortable doing that yet. I arrived and knocked on the door. As I waited, I was listening for the sound of footsteps, but heard nothing. I got out my phone, thinking to call the house phone and ask Big D to let me in, but figured I’d just try knocking again. I rapped on the door again and waited. I heard an interior door open and close, and footsteps coming toward the back door. The door knob twisted, and the door was pulled forcefully inward. Big D took a giant step backward and yelled out “SHHHHHIIIT!!!” I jumped a bit as that was not the reaction I was expecting. “Damn girl, you scared the shit out of me.” he said, his hand resting over his heart. I started to giggle. “I’m sorry, I knocked, I swear I did. I thought you heard me and were coming to let me in.” I laughed all the way through the house, and each time I even thought of the encounter. His reaction was priceless.

There’s a guy that I work with, he reminds me way too much of my ex-husband so I try to keep my distance. Anyway, one day we had ice cream at work, and I over heard his random conversation between him and his cube mate Slacker.
The Big Cajun: So my friend, his last name is Hammer…so I was telling him that when he has kids, he should name his son Jack. You know…Jack Hammer…get it?
Slacker: Hehe, that’s funny. What if he named his kid Sledge? Then he’d be Sledge Hammer!
The Big Cajun: Ya, ya. Or what about Michael Clayton?
Me: Huh?
The Big Cajun: Cause if he went by his initials, he’d be MC Hammer!
I couldn’t help myself, I just had to laugh.

Now yesterday, I was standing with TBC & Slacker discussing my upcoming trip to Canada.
Me: I can’t wait. I leave in a little less than a month to go to Canada.
TBC: I’d love to go to Canada one day.
Slacker: Me too. I’d like to travel to a foreign country.
Me: *Puzzled* You consider Canada a foreign country? It’s very similar to the US. Just with less people.
TBC: Ya, I’ve heard there are like only 3 major cities in Canada.
Me: Yep, that’s pretty much it. There’s less than 40 million people in the whole country. It works out to like 2 people per square kilometre.
TBC: *Gets this dreamy look on his face* Do you know what they have a lot of in Canada?
Me: Canadians?
TBC: And they come in lots of flavors too!
Me: *Slacker and I are both looking at each other like we think TBC is crazy and then burst out laughing* What are you talking about? You so lost me back there.
TBC: Beer…what did you think I was talking about?
Slacker and I started laughing so hard and explained what we were cracking up about. TBC said he didn’t hear me answer him saying that Canada must be filled with Canadians. This morning when I got to work, I asked him what flavor of Canadian he had for dinner last night. That got everyone chuckling all over again.

Me, Mr.Nascar & Bert© were having icecream one evening. It was freezing inside the shop, and I wanted to get back outside where it was warm.
Me: Hurry up, honey and finish your icecream. It’s cold in here.
B: Ok mommy. Less talkie, more lickie.
Mr.N: *Starts laughing*

Well everyone, that’s all I’ve got for now. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll write about how much I suck at bowling, and my brand new bowling shoes. Or maybe I’ll blog about our ill-fated trip to the zoo. Or maybe I’ll finally write about my trip to Phoenix back in March!! I guess you’ll have to tune in tomorrow for “The adventures of Webmiss & Bert©”

I’m leaving on a Jet Plane

June 29, 2008 · 2 Comments

I cannot wait. I’ve booked my plane tickets, and my ferry tickets. Bert© & I will leave after I get off work on August 8th. It’s been nearly 3 years since I’ve been back home. It’s been more than a year since I’ve seen my little sister. I’m excited, and happy. I’m also nervous about travelling alone with a small child.

I don’t have much time to update right now, we’re heading to a birthday party this afternoon.

I haven’t been reading as much as I used to. Frankly, I haven’t been home all that much to use the computer and they’ve cracked down on unauthorized internet usage at work. I should have time this week as I only work Monday through Wednesday and then have the rest of the week off.

Have a lovely Sunday afternoon.

****************

I cannot seem to get my little ticker to work properly. I cannot see the countdown at the bottom. If anyone can help me fix it, I would be grateful!
