Not tonight, OK? I have a headache

I know I was supposed to write about the birthday party for a kid Hailey has never met, but I’m tired and I have a  headache. Instead I will explain an obscure reference I made in a comment on Janedoe0’s site.

Have a totally-awesome-wicked-kick ass time at the zoo on Sunday. Just remember “Animals don’t wear underpants, they just roam free!”

That is a reference from a TV show I watched as a child called Bobby’s World.

Occasionally Bobby (whoops just typed that as Booby, thank goodness for backspace) would break into song in one of his episodes. A memorable one my brother Steve always loved was “Animal’s don’t wear underpants”. Unfortunately I have been unable to run across a copy of that anywhere on YouTube. However, I did find another cute one called “Underwater the fish don’t stink” and I present that for your viewing pleasure:

The wheels on the bus go ’round and ’round…

A co-worker whom I socialize with outside of work invited me over for dinner tonight. Her husband cooked Chicken Alfredo for us and we sat around having some adult conversation while her two kids played with Hailey. I love, love, LOVE (get the point?) grown up time. Around 8pm we turned on the TV and started watching America’s Got Talent. Wow! I’ve mentioned before that I am addicted to The Amazing Race, but other than that I do not watch much TV. America’s Got Talent grabbed my attention tonight probably because it’s working down to the finals so they have weeded out the weirdos. My friend assures me there has been some acts that push the envelope as a definition of talent.

Anyway, there was this fantastic ventriloquist act tonight, a guy named Terry Fator. I can’t rave enough about the act he presented tonight! It’s not posted on YouTube yet and that’s a shame because he kicked butt! I did manage to find one of his previous presentations to the dummies judges.

I’ve never been a fan of reality TV but I was sucked in by this one act and watched the rest of the show. I have to even admit that I *glup* went online and voted for him to move on to the top 10. I know, I know. I’m pathetic.

I figured after that I would start heading home, but unfortunately my attention was again drawn to the TV for a quasi gameshow aptly named The Singing Bee. I bet you’re all out there in cyberland rolling your eyes at me. What can I say…simple mind simpler pleasures?

This clip is from the season premier, so it was a little longer than normal. I think I would whoop some tooshie on this show. I love to sing even though I don’t do it well…but like Joey Fatone reminds us, “It’s not how well you can sing, it’s how well you know the words”
